With a few exceptions, the drivers in the Initial D anime all belong to their respective local teams. The Speed Stars, Night Kids and Red Suns are all teams in the Gunma Prefecture, while Emperor, S.S.R and Toudou-Juku are all from the Tochigi Prefecture.
